There are about 220,800 new cases of prostate cancer, and 27,540 deaths just this year. It’s the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in American men.
However, its survival rate is relatively high. In fact, there are over 2.9 million men diagnosed with it that are still alive today. All thanks to a treatment called hormone therapy (also known as androgen suppression therapy), which blocks and reduces androgen production in the body.
