It seems to me that I’m always one or two steps behind my peers in the general scheme of things. My friends have beautiful homes with expansive kitchens and adorable children and handsome, hard-working husbands, and I’m over here in my tiny house that I rent, single, and I can’t even keep a plant alive. I realize that everyone gets there (wherever there is) in their own time, but I wanted to do something that would inspire me on a daily basis and remind me that there are big things out there, even while I was standing in my tiny kitchen. via WordPress https://jonathanwilhoite.wordpress.com/2016/03/01/the-coolest-way-to-paint-your-tiny-kitchen-on-a-budget-kitchen-projects/

Opening the door to the smell of lasagna, chicken soup, pot roast — to almost anything — is heaven. But most recipes call for three to six hours of cooking, so for those of us who are operating on more of an eight- to 10-hour schedule, that isn’t so convenient. I’m on a mission to make my slow cooker work for me, because I love coming home to a great meal. Here’s how we do it. via WordPress https://jonathanwilhoite.wordpress.com/2016/03/01/6-ways-to-make-the-slow-cooker-work-when-youre-gone-all-day-tips-from-the-kitchn/ The slow cooker has been our answer for soups, stews, hands-off dinners, and even the occasional breakfast. So, here’s my dinner from tonight… Quick tomato basil zoodles!… Read More » The post Quick Tomato Basil Zoodles appeared first on Running on Real Food. [[ This is a content summary only. Get out your slow cooker! It takes a simple adjustment, but for most recipes these two pieces of cooking equipment can be used interchangeably. via WordPress https://jonathanwilhoite.wordpress.com/2016/02/29/the-temperature-rule-to-follow-when-converting-a-dutch-oven-recipe-to-a-slow-cooker-tips-from-the-kitchn/ Item: Chef’d Meal Kits The catalog of dinners is sourced, as the name suggests, from actual chefs. Apart from a few options geared toward children, there’s really nothing boring among the offerings! All of the meals I ordered came together in a reasonable amount of time, tasted wonderful, and were very filling. via WordPress https://jonathanwilhoite.wordpress.com/2016/02/29/i-tried-meal-kits-from-chefd-and-heres-what-i-thought-product-review/ We can think of few things better than walking through the door after a long day and knowing that a home-cooked meal awaits us. And since we don’t have our own personal live-in chefs, we’ll have to rely on our slow cookers to help us out. These comforting recipes take just a little bit of prep work in the morning or the night before, and then rely on the slow cooker to do the heavy lifting. Your future self will thank you. via WordPress https://jonathanwilhoite.wordpress.com/2016/02/29/23-delicious-slow-cooker-recipes-for-busy-weeknights-recipes-from-the-kitchn/ Whenever I start planning a trip, my focus is on food, which makes sense: Besides eating to live, I write about and style food for a living. Most of the time the planning centers around what I’ll be eating while traveling, but preparing for any trip also means mindfully leaving space to carry treats to bring home. via WordPress https://jonathanwilhoite.wordpress.com/2016/02/29/8-things-to-bring-back-from-delhi-food-souvenirs/ |
