Carry On Cocktail Kit• $24 One of the few remaining perks of air travel is the beverage service — specifically those mini airline bottles of booze. Yes, they are a bit on the pricey side, but there’s something that just makes a cocktail better when it’s enjoyed at cruising altitude. But don’t get stuck drinking vodka soda or a Jack and Coke. Thanks to this carry-on cocktail kit, you can elevate your in-air libations. via WordPress https://jonathanwilhoite.wordpress.com/2016/03/31/enjoy-hand-crafted-cocktails-at-35000-feet-daily-find-03-31-16/

As if you weren’t already crushing on Canada’s near-perfect Prime minister, this photo of Justin Trudeau practicing mayurasana (peacock pose) on an assembly room table, no less, is enough to give you the steams, or at least double check that your passport’s valid. Should we be surprised by this young buck’s (moose’s?) agility and skill? Because of this, it’s never been an option for my brunch parties since I just don’t have enough chairs around my dining room table to accommodate my guests. Thankfully, threading French toast cubes onto kebabs totally solves the problem while, at the same time, making the dish more fun. You get all the flavors and textures you love in French toast, and you still have a free hand to hold a mimosa! via WordPress https://jonathanwilhoite.wordpress.com/2016/03/30/recipe-bananas-foster-french-toast-kebabs-tiny-brunch-recipes-from-the-kitchn/ I’ve been taking a new approach to the way I make salads — or rather, the way I dress them. Instead of garnishing my salads with soft chunks of tangy goat cheese or crumbled feta, I’ve been using them as a base for the easiest, free-form creamy dressing. via WordPress https://jonathanwilhoite.wordpress.com/2016/03/30/a-template-for-turning-any-creamy-cheese-into-a-quick-dressing-tips-from-the-kitchn/ Making a really good smoothie is more than just piling ingredients into your blender. The way the ingredients are layered has a big impact on the way the drink is processed and on the final texture. To whip up a creamy smoothie, you have to know when to add ingredients to the blender. via WordPress https://jonathanwilhoite.wordpress.com/2016/03/30/a-layering-guide-to-a-better-smoothie-tips-from-the-kitchn/ Green smoothies started showing up everywhere a couple years ago, followed quickly by the green juice craze. But wait — aren’t those two the same thing? No, there is actually a key difference between smoothies and juices, and that difference has a big impact on how you digest the two. via WordPress https://jonathanwilhoite.wordpress.com/2016/03/30/whats-the-difference-between-juices-and-smoothies-word-of-mouth/ I think we can all agree that bacon is pretty irresistible as is. That crispy, crunchy texture and smoky flavor can liven up breakfast plates and add an extra oomph to salads and sandwiches. Which is precisely why it’s time to up the ante on your next batch of bacon with the help of a few rich, sweet, spicy, and savory upgrades. via WordPress https://jonathanwilhoite.wordpress.com/2016/03/30/5-fun-ways-to-flavor-bacon-breakfast-boosters/ http://feeds.wordpress.com/1.0/comments/nutritionclubca.wordpress.com/1526/ http://ifttt.com/images/no_image_card.png Tired of not having that six pack you always dreamed of? Your lower abs are the most challenging to tone up. Body fat seems to settle in the lower abdominal section and if you want your muscles to show you’re going to have to shed every bit of that fat. Strict diets can help but the biggest secret is the workout. Hundreds of sit-ups and crunches aren’t going to get you there. You’ll have to retrain your muscles from various angles and diversify all of your workouts. If your lower abs are shredded, you’ve been doing hard work and it shows. While some people may appear to have been born with a naturally tiny waist and toned abdominal muscles, the rest of us have to work for it. Months or years of diligent workouts can pay off, however, with consistent training and clean eating you’re sure to reach your goals. Here are four simple exercises that can help you crush your lower abs and show off those abs in no time.Hanging Reverse Crunches This is a challenging alternative to crunches. You’ll have to hand from a bar with your knees and bring your knees up to the front of your body while keeping your arms straight. Then you’ll learn slightly forward and squeeze your abs. Raise your knees up toward your head and return your starting point. While intense, they will help to restore those six packs. Leg Raises This was designed as a strength training exercise and it’s ideal for beginners as well as advanced lifters. It’s effective to build up thick strong abs. Lie on your back and keep your legs straight. Place your arms at your sides and slowly raise your legs while you’re flexing your abs. Hold the contraction for several seconds and return to your starting position. keeping the abs tight during the entire motion this will help your body tone up those muscles. Increase your sets and make it more challenging by changing it up to seated, hanging and other positions. You could also add weight to the exercise. Bench Crunch Crush A variation of the hanging reverse crunch, this is done on a regular basis to strengthen the core muscles. It will tone the lower abs and help to burn off fat. Simply use a bench on the vertical with elbow rests and place your body in the hanging position. Lift the knees high and keep the abs tense. Lower the knees in a controlled movement. Cable Crunches Include these in the workout as well. They will target both lower and upper abs. To begin tie a rope to the pulley or to the lat pulldown machine. Use your hand or your wrist against your head a hold the rope. Lean over and tighten the abs. Bring the elbows to the mid of the thighs and squeeze hard. Return to the starting point. Hold this as long as possible and repeat. Remember, use enough weight to affect the results. Begin with light weight weights and gradually increase them as you go for best results. Choose loads that allow you to do this slowly with proper form at all times. In a blender, making your own butter becomes a practical, everyday affair for us modern-day home cooks. Find a sale on your favorite heavy cream? Have half a carton left over from the weekend? Treat yourself to some homemade butter. via WordPress https://jonathanwilhoite.wordpress.com/2016/03/30/how-to-make-butter-in-a-blender-cooking-lessons-from-the-kitchn/ If you’re in the habit of only using your blender to make smoothies in the morning, you’re missing out on all the soups, sauces, and desserts you can make with this multitasking appliance. Consider this a comprehensive curriculum in just what your blender is capable of. Now the only question is: Where do you want to get started? via WordPress https://jonathanwilhoite.wordpress.com/2016/03/30/21-things-to-make-in-the-blender-besides-smoothies-recipes-from-the-kitchn/ |
